The Wonder of God

"I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jer. 29:10-11).

Wow! What an incredible 'promise and hope' for all God's children. Our Heavenly Father knows our every thought, our every need and our every longing. He also knows all of the mistake we've ever made and are going to make. God is not angry with us, he still loves us. He has already made plans for us even before we said,"yes". We can't even grasp it, how much He wants that intimate relationship with us. He never gives up seeking to draw us closer to Himself. In the next verse the Lord shares His heart's desire and the conditions he asks of us.

"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord,"and I will bring you back from captivity." (Jer. 29: 12-14).

What God is telling us here is that no matter what our situation is, He wants to draw us closer, to see our remorse, to hear how sorry we are and to show Him how much we love Him. He doesn't want a 'quickie.' He wants us to wait upon Him and to really know Him and His ways, which means He wants intimate time with us, honest words from us and a heart felt relationship of total trust and obedience to him. He love us with an incredible passion, calling us back home where He is waiting for us to return to His side. He has forgiven us of all of our sins and promised to restore us to our rightful position in His Kingdom.

The Lord Almighty has and is breaking the bonds and chains off our hearts and minds, that have kept us enslaved and apart from Him. Whether our situation is financial, emotional, physical, spiritual, or addictions of any kind; nothing, absolutely nothing is impossible with God. It's never too late and we're never too old and the past is not our future. There are so many examples of His love in the Bible, where God took the nobodies like Abraham (from childless to father of many nations), David (a forgotten son becomes a king), the prophets (many from farmer to oracle), Simon Peter (fisherman to fisher of men), Rahab (harlot to lineage of Christ) and countless others who were transformed into great men and women of God. All those who seek God with their whole heart, are called to be Kings and Priests of the Lord. So let us not despair or give up, no matter how bad things may look for the moment. Just keep seeking, trusting and waiting on God, He wants us to let go of our past and grab hold of our future in Christ.

The Greatest Communicator

There have been a number of people throughout history, who were known as great communicators. There may even be a few today, but are people really listening? Some people call that ability a gift or talent. These people are able to gather information, thoughts or feelings, and present them in a such a way for large groups of people to understand them. Some of these people have been politicians, lawyers, religious leaders or teachers. 

Many have their own unique style or way of communicating. They can also be very persuasive, dramatic or intimidating, by their choice of words, tone of voice, body language, and even their looks. Others can be fascinating, eloquent or entertaining and people enjoy listen to them or maybe because they're good looking. But, if the information they give is incorrect, not useful, boring, or offensive what good is it, even if others may listen to it. It's just a waste of your time and maybe your money. 

However, it doesn't matter how well one communicated, if people don't want to listen or read it. The speaker might as well be talking to a dummy or a blank wall. The value of any information they give is only as good has its source, and if its beneficial and fulfills its intended purpose. When the information is faulty or doesn't help anyone. First hand knowledge is always better and the best place for knowledge and wisdom comes from the Bible. 

People should know the Bible for themselves and not depend on others "expertise." People should be very familiar with the "red letters edition" of the Bible, because they were the words of Jesus. He was and is the Greatest Communicator and the example for everyone to follow. His words have the power to change people's lives and His life has influenced millions of others. 

Jesus message was simple yet profound and sometimes even complex. He drew examples from life and nature so that any one could understand the mysteries and wonders of God. He fascinated the young and the educated. However I believed the best thing anyone could learn was from a statement He made to Martha, "Mary has chosen the best position." (Luke 10:42) She chosen to set at Jesus' feet and listen. A position we should all take, if we want to learn anything at all.

Jesus said and did what He saw His Father saying and doing." (John 5:19/ Mt. 12:50) No one ever spoke like Jesus. His words were spoken with power and authority and yet He was also kind and gentle. He always drew upon His Father for His source of information, by communicating with Him in prayer regularly. Therefore, we should do likewise. Then we will become better communicators, by allowing His Spirit to speak through us. 

Jesus often spoke in parables, it was easy for people to remember. Yet, even with Jesus' ability to communicate, there were still those who didn't understand Him, because their hearts weren't right. He said, "while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand." Which was exactly what the prophet Isaiah prophesied:

"You will keep on hearing, but not understand; you will keep on seeing, but not perceive; for the heart of this people has become dull, and with their ears they scarcely hear..." (Mt.13:13-15)

As you see, Jesus ability to communicate didn't always get the results he wanted, but it wasn't His fault. He explained this problem in the parable of the Seed Sower also. Where some seeds fell on the road, rocky soil or among thorns and produced nothing. Yet other seeds landed in fertile soil producing 30, 60, and 100 fold. (Mt. 13:1-23) The seed is the Word of God. As you see people have to be willing to receptive His words and apply them to their life, if they want to bear fruit. But it can only be accomplished, by being leading of His Holy Spirit.   

Jesus is the Truth, the Life and The Way. His words are seeds that produce Life, and they will produce everlasting life in everyone who receives all His words (now and forever).  This is the foundation of the Great Communicator. There is no one else who can make these claims or has the power to accomplish what He says. 

Jesus and His Father always communicated with each other and Jesus sometimes shared it with the people, especially His disciples. Sometimes to no avail it seemed, but eventually they would all understand (just like us). However, sometimes Jesus actions spoke louder than His words. Like when He washed the disciple's feet, or stood silent before His accusers, or hung on a cross for our sins.

Jesus often told his disciples secrets (Mt. 6:31-34) He also said that He would send the Holy Spirit to teach them after He was gone (John 14:16,26) and that His Spirit would guide them into all truth (John 16:13). God desires to speak to all His disciples, sons and daughters and share with them His heart and plans for them. His voice and the Bible are still communicating to those who believe.

The scripture also says. "That God does nothing without first revealing it to His prophets." (Amos 3:7) God is still in the communicating business. And lately He has been talking to us about restoration, dreams, new beginnings, Kingdom authority, the power of words, the supernatural, miracle and abiding in Him.  

The Father wants to help anyone who is willing to listen. The Scripture says, if any man lacks wisdom let him ask of God who give generously, when done in faith (James 1:5-6). God doesn't usually help, if we don't ask, believe and surrender to His will. Jesus said: 

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them, they may be compared to a wise man who build his house upon a rock..." (Mt.7:24) Jesus Christ is that Rock and the Greatest Communicator. Amen!

The Greatest Show on Earth

The greatest event in history is about to begin, and the Ringmaster will be the Heavenly Father himself. He will be center stage and orchestrating mind boggling events and powers that the world has never seen before. And the good news, it's FREE! It won't cost you anything. However, you'll have to be at the right place and at the right time, if you want to see it. Sometimes there may be some advance notice and other times you may just hear about it. Some of the action will be captured by news media or video cameras to be seen live, or later on national TV networks, or the Internet.

God is not dead nor has He been hiding. His supernatural power have been seen before, especially in ancient history and various other times throughout history, and on every continent. There has also been some powerful movements of God, in the past hundred years. However, nothing will compare to what He is about to do this time. Things are rapidly changing. 

Are you ready, waiting and expecting? You have a choice as to whether you want to be a spectator, setting in the bleachers, or a participator, allowing God's power and authority to work through you. Don't be content with the status quo, just to sit and watch. Let God know that you want to be "in" on the action. Then surrender to His love with all your heart, that's the only price you'll have to pay for now. Yet, it will cost you more later,  but it's worth it.

The Heavenly Father is going to pour out His Spirit and blessings for all to see. Millions of lives will be changed and people set free instantly; as their hearts turn toward God. They will find the peace and joy they never knew before. There will also be an overturn in governments and businesses that were never expected. We will also see people who have missing limbs restored before our very eyes. And hundreds of people raised from the dead. There will be thousands and then millions of people healed of their sickness and diseases in the USA and much more worldwide. As God move across this planet and through His sons and daughters in the years to come.

Marriages and families will be also restored that once looked hopeless or impossible. There will be changes in worship, prosperity and technology for helping mankind and there will be signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth, all testifying of the amazing power of God. We are heading into an incredible and unbelievable time, "a new age" called, the Kingdom of God. And we will see the greatest display of His love, grace and mercy; that the world has ever known.

For years prophets, ministers and people have been talking about a mighty move of God coming. Nothing likes anything we've seen or heard of before. I have felt this way for a number of years, thinking maybe this would be the year, but it wasn't. However, God has been speaking to us of "new beginnings" for months and recently "this would be the best year of our lives." Now He's saying, "This is the year, of the supernatural." It all starts with small beginnings and it will continue to grow and multiply until it becomes the Greatest Show on Earth. 

Overturn

"The time of the Kingdom of God is at hand. The time of reigning is at hand. Overturn is before your people. Overturn is coming, say the Lord. It will not be as religious has declared. It will not be as man declares. Prophets will shut their mouths in the presence of the Lord. The Lord Himself is coming to judge, and all things will be made right, because of His righteousness. And all the people will bow, because of His Glory. 

No more will men raise their heads above another, for the Lord Jesus himself will be God's head and only mankind His shoulders. The Love of God will be the administration and gifts will show their appreciation. For Christ is coming to judge the the world. The Shofar is beginning to blast His return and it will not be as man thought. The Holy Spirit, like a dove, is coming upon the righteous ones and they will be set apart to finish their lot.

My sons, my people are moving into a new Kingdom Age, and the birth pains are severe on the young and the aged. For the Lord is coming to set up His thrown—to visit His people—to create a new home. The righteous rule beneath their Lord, and angels will bow and throw down their swords. For this mess of a world, has been in war and chaos, wars and chaos. It's transitioning now and overturning. You will see the Lords returning. The vision is coming clearer and clearer, because you have commanded the Light to enter. You have commanded the Light to enter. I told you both, some days ago, "Don't despise the days of small beginnings." (A portion of a prophecy spoken by Sheldon David on 9-17-2010)

Mask of Humility

Many years ago there was a TV program called, The Lone Ranger, that I watch when I was a child. I know that dates me, but many others have enjoy seeing it as well in reruns. Today, there are other superheros capturing of the hearts and minds of children and adults. Yet, the Lone Ranger was the first masked TV hero. The ranger's life had once been saved by an Indian, and now he felt an obligations to help others in return. Yet, he always wanted to remain anonymous even after risking his life to help someone else. Near the end of each program, the recipient would say, "Who was that masked man?"—as he rode away on his white horse. Then someone would say, "I don't know." And another person would reply, "That was the Lone Ranger."

In the movie, Superman, we have a similar situation. One night after saving Lois Lane's life, Superman gives her a breathtaking trip over the city and beyond—via his superpower. When they touch ground again, she asked Superman this question, "Who are you?" He replied, with a smile and said, "I'm a friend," and then he flies away. Nearly every superhero has sought to keep their true identity a secret for as long as possible, including Jesus.
 

In the New Testament, we read about many wonderful and incredible miracles of Jesus. On one occasion after feeding a multitude of people with just a few loaves of bread and some fishes, Jesus asked his disciples this question, "Who do the people says I am?" They answered Him by saying, that some people thought He was John the Baptist, or Elijah; but others thought He was a prophet raised from the dead. And Jesus said to them, "But, who do you say that I am." Peter quickly replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Then Jesus told His disciples, that this revelation came from His Father in heaven. However, He strictly warned them that they were not to tell anyone, that He was the Christ, until after His death.
 

This account and question is recorded in the first three Gospels. Yet, what's interesting to note is that in Luke's account, Jesus presented this question to his disciple after spending some time alone in prayer (Luke 9:18). It's obvious, the significance of this question, for it is one we all have to answer and give an accounting for in the way we live and think. But, it also showed Jesus true humility. We should also take time in prayer, to consider how we want people to perceive us.
 

Jesus also told His disciples on another occasion, that they would do greater works than Him, if they believed. Near the end of Jesus ministry, the disciples were disputing among themselves again, which one of them would be the greatest. Jesus told them and showed them by example, that only when they humbled themselves and became as child or a servant to others, would they be recognized and be blessed by God. (Luke 22:24; John 13:14-17)
 

Today, there are many people wearing masks and disciple disguises that make themselves look different from who they really are. Yet the scripture, tells us that true disciples of Jesus would be known by their love (John 13:35). We are not to do anythings with selfish motives or seek the attention of others. Jesus warned the pharisees of this and their hypocrisy (Mt. 23:13-36). These are things that we should also avoid doing.
 

As God pours out His Spirit upon all flesh in these last days, it is important for us to remember who we are. We are to be the Light that shines out to all men, so that they may see our good works and give glory to God. (Mt. 5:16) Only those who wear the mask of humility are the true disciples of Jesus and have His authority. So the next time you look in the mirror—ask yourself, "Who am I... someone who seeks attention or someone who serves?"

sex, Sex and More SEX

In the beginning there was God, and He created man, and then He made women. Then God said to both of  them, "Go— have sex and multiply," then He said to mankind, " Do it again, and again and again; until the earth is filled with all your lustful and selfish desires. And when you're all through and have devastated and wasted your lives, then come unto Me and I will restore your ravaged souls and heal your broken hearts." No, that's not what God said, but it seems to be pretty much what they have done, except the last part. However, God is still waiting for them. 

This world for the most part is spiritually ignorant, and has become obsessed with "sex" and "money." One or both of them are at the forefront of most people's minds. Those two words have also become an easy way to get peoples attention. Case and point, sex sells merchandise. But, what does it take for God to get our attention or for people to buy what He's offering.

There's so many voices calling out today, that the voice of truth is almost lost in the competition for people's hearts and minds. It seems to take a "catchy phrase" or "buzz word" get people to stop, look and listen. And when they do stop, many will say, "Oh, I've heard that," or "I've read that stuff before," even when they read a Blog article. Then there are some ministers or TV evangelists, who have distorted the gospel to make it more appealing. Now, even some people are getting tired of hearing that stuff too, as they struggle through life, still feeling empty and poor.

Jesus Christ was and is not just another voice, nor was John the Baptist. Yet, even while Jesus was on earth and did many miracles. Most of the people quit listening, because they no longer cared for what He had to say, or understood Him or His intentions. Maybe they thought He was just too extreme. However, their feelings dramatically changed toward Him, after the day of Pentecost. And for a next 300 hundred years the message of Jesus Christ and His Father swept the world. But, things gradually changed after that, with religion taking over. Now, things are pretty much back to square one, with most people still obsessed with sex and self-indulgence. But that is about to change again.

The sons of God are not just another voice either. Our prayers, are that God will prepares the hearts and mind of people so they will be able to hear His voice. That the Holy Spirit will move upon peoples lives in such a way as to bring Light into their lives; either now, tomorrow or sometime in the future. God is answering those prayers. 

The truth we have written and share comes from God's heart. God's anointing on His sons words are intended to pierce the minds and soften harden hearts. So that people will be restored and turn back to their Heavenly Father.

Our prayers are also to see people set free from worldly and religious thinking and come to know the desires of God's heart. To have an intimate relationship with the Creator Himself. God is looking for such people, who are disparate, hungry and lonely. Who have had enough of this world and its empty promises. If, you truly want something satisfying and long lasting, to fill the void inside, only God can do that. Jesus Christ is the ultimate ecstasy.

People want change, they're tired and angry of what government, society and religion is trying to sell them. They want to see real power and real love, like the God and the Jesus of the Bible. They don't want to hear just talk. 

God is coming soon and things are going to change. Yet, maybe not quite the way or as quickly as some wanted or expected Him, yet welcomed just the same. Then they will be inspired to change also, and together we will all declare, with the angels of heaven.

 "Holy, Holy, Holy the whole earth is filled with His glory."

 (Isaiah 6:3)

Stolen Wells

Have you ever done something you believed to be the will of God and then something unexpected happened and all the time, money and efforts where stolen? Or maybe they took the credit from an idea that was yours? This often happens, because of the fallen world we live in and the selfish nature of some people. Then, there are those so-called accidents that can also rob us of time and money. And finally there is satan, whose is a thief and is basically responsibly for every evil thing thats happened. But, when you're a child of God you sometimes feel those kind of things shouldn't happen to you, but they do. How, you respond in those kind of situations is important.

We all have rights or think we do and everyone wants justice. But as a son of God, our attitude and recourse should be different from the world's. Our petition and attitudes are to be laid before our Heavenly Father, the Righteous Judge. However, what's interesting is that God often allows these things happen for our benefit, for several reasons. One is for correction, because we often make mistakes (doing things we shouldn't have). Another reason is God wants to bless us as we trust and obey Him through those trying situations, so that we will become mature sons and daughters. Lastly, there is also "the cross," we bear the loss for the sake of Christ. In all three situations there are blessings, if our heart is right.

Therefore, theft in a way is a blessing in disguise, even though it may be painful at the time. Remember, we are to give thanks in (not for) all things. (I Thess. 5:18). Besides, God promises to restore all things, when we make our petition, based on faith and forgiveness. God has no choice, but to honor His Word. (Mark 11:22-26) However, restoration happens in God's time, not ours. It can happen quickly and other times it may take years. (I have experienced both situations.) Sometimes we may not see the full reward in our lifetime, but others will benefit, because of our sacrifice and His promises to us. God will see to it, that everything happens at just the right time. Just as we saw in the lives of Job, Joseph, Moses, David, Jesus, the apostles and many others lives. 

However, I would like to share the examples from the lives of two other great men, Abraham and Isaac. Since both of their losses dealt with actual wells of water, and how they dealt with the theft. They lived in an arid region where it was necessary to have access to a special source of water for them to survive, usually a well. It was one of their most valuable possession. A well represented life and the water from it was more precious than gold. It took a lot of time and effort to dig a deep hole and then line the walls to hold the water. A well was a major investment and the cool fresh water was the reward and a blessing from God. Those efforts would benefit their family and friends for generations to come. It was wrong for anyone to attempt or take a well by force, and it was worth fighting for and protect.

However, in the life of Abraham we see a different reaction. He had dug a well in the land God had promised to him. Then one day the servants of the king, seized Abraham's well by force. Abraham was a man of peace, he was also a warrior, as we learned regarding his rescue of Lot, and his family (Gen. 13:8 & 14:14,15). Yet this time, he apparently didn't feel water was worth fighting for, as some others may have. So Abraham chose to let the men have the well, for the time being, even though what they did was wrong. But, the time eventually came when those evil actions were made known to the king, whom Abraham may have thought was been behind the theft.

King Abimelech saw that God had blessed Abraham. So the king and his commander wanted to make a peace treaty with Abraham regarding both of their futures. Abraham was more than willing to have peace. However, before Abraham was willing to sealed their agreement he filed his complaint about his stolen well. The king was surprised and denied having any knowledge of it. Then the two of them took an oath and made a covenant. (I'm sure the matter of the well, was quickly corrected.)

However, many years later we see Abraham's son, Isaac in a similar situation, and with the same forgiving nature. Other wells of Abraham, had be filled in with rocks and dirt by the people in the region. The surrounding people envied Isaac , but they were also afraid of him, so they had old king Abimelech ask Isaac to move on. (so much for a covenant) 

Anyway, Isaac moves to another area and his servants dug a new well, one with flowing water, but the people there contend with him. So he move away again and dug another well, only to have the people quarrel over that one too. Isaac move on again, because he too was a man of peace, even though the people feared him. So he dug again, and this time, when they found water there was no quarrel. (I don't know if I. would have had that much patience.) Anyway, Isaac built an altar to the Lord, thanking Him for a place to settle down and flourish. Then the old king came again to make a peace covenant with Isaac, and so they did.

Every generation of Abraham had to deal with evil, sometimes even within their own family. Jacob was an example of this, this time the thief was his father-law, Laban. The man stole and cheated Jacob many time. Yet, God was faithful to Jacob and he continued to bless and prosper him, in spite of Laban's evil actions. Jacob chose to continue trusting God, rather than confront Laban's actions.

Many years later, Jacob's son, Joseph, also experienced an unbelievable turn of events, due to his brothers selling him into slavery. God's blessing was on Joseph despite all his misfortunes. Many years later, Joseph's response to his brothers evil actions was one of peace and forgiveness. Joseph told his brother, "What you meant for evil against me, God meant it for good." All these Patriarchs were able to see God's ultimate plan, and forgive others in spite of their evil behavior.

Note: Throughout history, satan has tried to steel, kill and destroy God's sons and what was meant for them. No one is exempt from satan's attempts or efforts. Although it may look like the enemy has won at times, he really hasn't. God is still in control of everything. Satan is simply one of God's pawns. 

"All things work together for good, to them who love the Lord, and are called according to his purpose." 

When our life's race is complete, the thieves will be the losers and God's sons the winners. His sons are always compensated many time over, and in the end they never regret any of their past losses. They were able to forgive others and they trusted more in the faithfulness of God, besides they were looking for something better—a city who's foundation is God, rather than the temporary things in life.  

Jesus Christ is that city, the New Jerusalem. The lose of  life or possessions meant nothing to them, compared to the riches of being in the presence of the Lord.

Despite all of the enemies attempts to harass, argue, quarrel and steal from God's sons, God give them His peace. All evil actions will eventually be exposed (Eph.5:13) and all God's sons and daughters will be honored. God has also promised, that He will repay what was lost and stolen. (Joel 2:25) Even by our own negligence.

I have experienced many loses, because of selfish and foolish choices. Like many people, I did things the way I wanted until I was almost 40 years old. Even though I had gone to church most of my life. From that kind of behavior, I lost money, a house, a new van, and a lot other things. Yet, when I turned my life back to Jesus Christ, He restored everything within the next twelve years with better ones.
 
Satan has also stolen many things from me, such as money, paintings, investments, friends, relationships and even my wife. The latter was the greatest loss (only temporary). As a result, satan also stole a lot of my emotions (mainly peace and joy), but then maybe some of that was due to my poor choices. 

However, satan was never able to steal my relationship with God. Jesus Christ has always been with me, especially during the hard times and He was faithful in every way. He has also promised to restore all things, including my marriage, and that He would "kiss my soul and spirit alive." He always restores things to better than what they were before.

God does this for every son and daughter, because of His awesome love and grace and mercy. Jesus Christ is also "The Well," that no one can steal, and deep within Him flows the River of Life. Why don't you, "taste and see that the Lord is Good." Then keep reaching and drinking. Don't be content with just a sip, every now and then. You may even want to dive in and be baptized into His love, His death and rise up in His resurrection power. You never regret it.

Another Beginning

God often takes us through new doors, levels or stages in our walk with Him. He also calls them "new beginning." And so it is for both Sheldon David and I. God is taking each of us to different levels. We have been friend for over 22 years and in that time we have done many things together and we have also learned so much from the Lord. Our spiritual callings are different, and yet they have complimented each other as well.

Since moving to Vancouver, Washington where Sheldon lives, we have gotten to do more together. Sheldon has continued to disciple me and edited my articles every Tuesday or Wednesdays for over a year. But God decided that the time has come for me to be less dependent on Sheldon's help, spiritual strength or his approval. We will still meet for Bible study on Thursday with other people and on Friday evenings, when just the to of us meet for prayer, worship and intercession. However, last week was the last time we met for editing my articles. Sheldon has been very patience with me. So, please bare with me and any grammar errors you might find as God continues to help me. I'm hoping my wife will help more often. She is very good at editing.

The Lord said to me, "I separate to establish." So it has come time for me to move foreword without any crutches or applauds. I have often asked for Sheldon's opinion on certain things, even on my Blog articles, because he knows God much better that I do. But, God wanted to change that and it didn't really come me as a surprise. It was nice while it lasted and I learned a lot. I am very grateful for all the time Sheldon has help me. This will also give Sheldon more time to do what he needs to. He is a very blessed and awesome man of God and someday people will see and realize just how blessed.

I actually feel pretty good about this move, yet a little nervous. It also means I'm becoming more dependent on God, which is what I've always wanted, especially in ministry. Everyone needs to eventually learn to walk with the Lord on their own. Even Moses wanted help at first so God gave him Aaron until he got his confidence. We are to live by faith and do what God tells us, and not always looking to others for help, approval or even their OK; that includes friends, parents and even your wife.

Most people seek the approval of others. But, as followers of Jesus Christ, we're not to seek their approval. The other night God said to us, "I told you, that you would share My reputation, good or bad, as it needs to be. Leave it in My hands and let it become what it needs to. For it doesn't matter what man thinks or says. The Father is the audience. He's the only audiences that matters. The audience of one is the only one that matters. There's not an American who thinks like that...Yet, you realized that Christ is the principle itself. That if you have God you have everything."

This has also been a problem for most people in the world, especially for leaders and people in ministry and that shouldn't be the situation. We are to listen and obey God regardless of what others think. Adam, Aaron and King Saul are just a few example of men who made very serious mistakes by listen to the voices of others. God's word and ways are foremost. Jesus said and did only what He saw the Father saying and doing (John 5:19), regardless of what others thought. If Jesus did it, shouldn't we?

Our fears often whole us back from fulfilling God's will for our lives as well as others. There is a time in which we need to be taught. Jesus also taught his disciples, but there also came a time for them to graduate. The Disciple were able to do far more than they had ever imagined , after Jesus' ascension. They learned to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and walk in Christ's strength and power, by spending more time waiting in the presence of the Heavenly Father.

A few weeks ago God said to us, "This will be the best year in your life." I'm believing that and looking foreword to sharing it with you in the months and years ahead. Now, is the most important time for all of us to get closer to the Heavenly Father. So close that you can hear His heart beat. Each beat is telling us how much He loves us. We also need to listening to what He's saying and doing. Lately, He has been saying, "All that I am and all that I have is yours." Its time to return home and receive the inheritance of the Father. The most important and valuable thing is becoming one, "I am" with Him.

The Tabernacle of the Lord

Today is the beginning of the Tabernacle season. It begins with Rosh Hashanah and end ten days later with Yom Kippur, the Most Holy Day. It is also called, The Day of Atonement and it is a time of reflection. It is one of the three major Holy Days (season) that the Lord commanded the children of Israel to celebrate, especially for the men. The people were to come to Jerusalem during this time and camp in tents. The tent were to be circular and open at the top. That way when they laid on their backs at night they could look up and see the stars, and remember the Promises and Covenant God made with Abraham, the father of our faith.

The Tabernacle season is still a time that the Heavenly Father desire to see His sons and daughters celebrate and to seek His heart. Many times Sheldon and I have gone camping in the awesome Redwood Forest (as shown above) in northern California, to celebrate this wonderful season. Many of the Redwood trees are over 2000 years old, 20 feet in diameter and 250 feet tall. The very nature and character of those tree is unique, just like Yahweh. You feel very small and humble in their presence and His Presence as well. And He established the Tabernacle season to remind us of His Atonement for our sins and His faithfulness.

During those times camping and many others places, we have heard God share his heart or the height and depth of his love. Sometimes that would include a directions He would be taking us or challenging our faith to another level. All of it, created memories that we will never forget. We should always desire to know what God would want of us. To set an example for another generation.

Tabernacles is also the beginning of the Jewish New Year, the Feast of Trumpets, the blowing of the shofars (horns), a time of new beginnings as well. During this time there is often repentance, fasting, seeking, giving, feasting and/or consecrating ones life anew to the Lord. The Father desires to see all of us move forward into our inheritance in Him and it will always begin with humility. We are His dwelling place and collective we are the Tabernacle (Temple) of the Lord.

My Wife and Marriage

I will be posting some articles on marriage shortly that I've been working on, so I thought it would be a good thing to first introduce my wife, Roberta. We met in Denver, Colorado at an art show just before Thanksgiving, and we were married the following year on July 10, 1976. It didn't take us long to know we were meant for each other. However, we only saw each other less than 50 times before the actual wedding day, mostly because of the distance we lived from each other. She was finishing her last year of college at Bethany Nazarene Bible College in Oklahoma City, and I was a lonely artist who had just turned 29. How we met is a long story in itself. However, God and Roberta's mother had a lot to do with it. During the time we were apart, we communicated often by phone and mail. There were also a few plane trips in between. After our wedding in Colorado Springs, we went to Yellowstone Park for a honeymoon in my 25' motor home. I had driven it down to Colorado to get married, also to bring her things back to my old home in Bellevue, Washington. Roberta was the prettiest woman I ever dated, and now we've been married 33 years.

We have a daughter named Shannyn, who is married to Jak Kukes and they have given us four beautiful grandchildren. Roberta is an incredible mother and grandmother, always helping whenever she can. She makes a special effort to spend time with each person. And for those special occasions, she has thoughtful gifts and/or cute cards with words of encouragement, love and scriptures personally written to them. Her loved ones are always in her thoughts and prayers.

Roberta is the most loving and considerate person I know, and people warm up to her quickly. She is friendly and outgoing and has a servant's heart that cares about people's needs. My wife is also creative and a great decorator. She loves animals, especially cats. We have two of them and when we got married, I had two dogs. Her ability to communicate and be a servant to others are her gifts, and she is very patient with people. She has a great love and faith for God, and she often prays with people at church, at work and the homes of parents who have children with challenging behavioral problems.

As a wife, she has loved and encouraged me over the years, even through the difficult times. She has been a source of help and comfort when I have felt down. Even through the hard times her love for God has been there. Through the years we have learned to adjust to our individual temperaments, as every couple must. Roberta has supported me on many wild and sometimes foolish ventures, yet together we have seen God's grace and faithfulness. We have opposite personalities which helps compliment and balance us. Yet, there are other times we have had to learn to adjust through love and forgiveness. We have stayed the course with Jesus Christ as our focus. Together we have experienced love, joy and sorrow through many challenging situations and seasons, as well as incredible miracles and financial blessings. Yet the best days are still ahead, as we minister together in Christ's anointing. Everything is working together for His good, and we owe it all to our Heavenly Father's love, grace and mercy.

Like many young married couples, we had many high hopes, dreams and expectations. But it wasn't long before we realized there would also be challenging days (or even years) ahead. We both made many mistakes, and as a result there were consequences for those mistakes. Our marriage has also lacked many things—peace, love, joy and oneness— that many couples would hope to experience and share for the rest of their lives. Yet we had a few brief moments, especially when our daughter was born, but they seldom lasted as long as we would have hoped. Sure, we could have made some changes; hindsight is twenty-twenty once you know all the facts.

There have been many failed dreams and expectations. Mostly, because of our weakness, pride and selfish desires. Also the lack of understanding God's ways, submission to His authority and false concepts. Demons of control and contention have played havoc in our marriage. This is also true in many others marriages that I have seen.

There was also a cross that came later, because of the "calling" given to me, that compounded the problems that already existed in our shaky marriage. And because of that prophetic calling, Satan has done his best to destroy our lives and marriage. He has wanted me to give up and believe that I failed, but I haven't failed. Religion has also effected our marriage. We were both raised in church life and had found comfort in it at times. However, God was moving me away from organized religious teachings and traditions, and that didn't make Roberta happy. And because of strife I wasn't happy either, my spirit and soul within me has nearly died, but the Lord has vowed to me that He would "kiss my spirit and soul alive," in the coming months. We are both in need of God's restoration.

This has not been easy for Roberta either, being married to a man like me, with a prophetic calling. Yet, I am a son, living out the life God planed for me, something neither of us knew or realized when we first got married. But, God has been faithful and so has Roberta. And since moving down here I have gotten to know the Father better. It has also helped Roberta, thanks to Sheldon. Together we (will) share the life God has designed for both of us, making us one in Him.

I'm thankful that God brought Roberta into my life. Being married to her has helped fill in many of the gaps where I was lacking. She has also inspired me and has helped support the man I am, and for that I am grateful. I love her very much and I always will. She has often said, I have a strange way of showing it. And to that I agree, but covenantal love is different than human love. I am a passionate and compassionate man with strong emotional and spiritual feelings, but I will obey God whether my wife, or family and friends likes it or not. The same goes for my flesh as well. (God's approval and our relationship with Him is the most important thing, regardless of our personal feelings.) I don't enjoy hardship, but that is part of The Way, when your following Jesus. We still have so much to learn from each other and from God. I can't imagine what my life would have been without her. I pray for her daily that God would bless her and guide her. I also consider myself a very blessed man.

The Insurance Alternitive

In a number of articles I have mentioned God's faithfulness and protection over health, finances and possessions. Since 1988, my wife and I have paid cash for our cars, homes, and furniture. However, a while back, I purchased my Mac Book computer (that I write my blogs on) with a Best Buy credit card when they had a special offer of 18 months no interest with purchase. We also had Bank CD's in savings to cover the cost of the computer which is now paid for, thanks to God's faithfulness and grace. I also believed it was what God wanted me to do. People shouldn't make a law about using credit cards, but follow the Holy Spirit leading.

God is faithful and helps pay all our bills—even though we don't make a lot of money at this time. Things may have been tight at times, but all our needs have been met. God was and is faithful, and we never lacked for food and we're still able to help others. I am a blessed and healthy man; God also considers me a wealthy man according to the promises to Abraham and the Covenant in which I share. I agree with the words God has spoken to me regarding my calling, my family and my future. By faith, I believe I have already received all his promises.

Let me share with you a brief testimony that happened a couple months ago. I was over at Sheldon's house for our usual Friday evening prayer and worship time. The street in front of his house is narrow, and so it is posted "No Parking" on one side. It was still light outside when I pulled into Sheldon's short driveway and I had noticed someone was visiting the neighbor's house across the street and they had parked their car in the restricted area. So I told myself that I would have to careful when I backed out later that night so I wouldn't hit it.

After an awesome evening with the Lord in our meeting where God said that He enjoyed stopping by "the house of David" on Friday evenings, where two men pray. I left about midnight and it was dark. I forgot to look and see if the dark blue car was still parked behind me. I got into my Chevy Astro van and backed out just as I usually do, which is almost to the other curb in order to make my turn to leave. Then I remembered the other car and hit my brakes and looked back through the driver's side mirror, the car was still there, but I did not hit it. I thought, boy that was close. I thanked God, then put the van into drive, made my turn and headed for home. But as I drove home I was puzzled by what had just happened.

The next time I went back to Sheldon's, I wanted to confirm my suspicions. I reconstructed what I had done the last time. The car was gone now, but the way I had backed out there was no way I could have missed hitting it. God's angels somehow moved things into another dimension, even though I still saw the car behind me in the mirror that night.

There have been other times that I have seen the Lord's protection over my life, and I'm sure you have too. God wants us to live in the spiritual and supernatural world, just as Jesus did. We are spiritual beings as well and as sons of God; we are not to be limited by the laws of the natural world. There are also other times we don't realize His help or appreciate it the way we should. For example, all those close calls in traffic we just take for granted. However, God wants us to operate in this realm more often by completely placing our trust in Him. When we do that, the supernatural will become a more common experience, along with healing the sick and raising the dead.

A few weeks after that incident, the Lord shared these words with us:

"Why would I limit a man, because of natural laws of gravity, natural laws at all. When the spiritual law is the higher law. Jesus was not; limitations bowed and yielded to Him. Just as you've noticed He's done for you. When you backed up and did not hit that car, that dark blue car. Grace is a greater law, than space and time and gravity. And mankind's natural limitations, and even his fears of giving up the dirt. You have already experienced things beyond your old limitations and certainly beyond many others comfort zone, but you'll experience them. In due time you will experience them a lot."

I know this for sure, the Lord takes extra precaution over his anointed ones. Remember what the Lord told Pharaoh, regarding Abraham's deception about his wife Sarah, this also applies to both Laban's and Esau's issues with Jacob: "Do no harm to my prophets or anointed ones." God is looking out for you too, as you see in this incredible chapter where God spells out the terms of his insurance policy for you who believe. All you have to do is sign your name at the bottom of the terms by faith. And you have entered a contract for life.

Psalm 91

You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,

Say to the LORD, "My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust.

God will rescue you from the fowler's snare, from the destroying plague,

Will shelter you with pinions, spread wings that you may take refuge;

God's faithfulness is a protecting shield

You shall not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day,

Nor the pestilence that roams in darkness, nor the plague that ravages at noon.

Though a thousand fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, near you it shall not come.

You need simply watch; the punishment of the wicked you will see.

You have the LORD for your refuge; you have made the Most High your stronghold.

No evil shall befall you, no affliction come near your tent.

For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways.

With their hands they shall support you, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

You shall tread upon the asp and the viper, trample the lion and the dragon.

Whoever clings to me I will deliver; whoever knows my name I will set on high.

All who call upon me I will answer; I will be with them in distress; I will deliver them and give them honor.

With length of days I will satisfy them and show them my saving power.

Wow, what a wonderful and powerful promise from God. These words were inspired by God and written by someone who really knew God. That's why it is so important to take the time to know Him. Or, have we become like so many people today who question God's ability to protect in all areas of life? Have we missed something? Are we really doing what God expects of us? Or, do we really believe satan's words more than God's Word? Just as Eve did, when satan said, "Did God really say?" I hope that's not the case.

We should not focus (dwell) on other people's problems or on our own, or listen to another voice. Instead, we should look to Jesus, for He's the answer. He is also our shield and mighty fortress in whom we find shelter. No insurance company or policy can offer that kind of protection, along with all His other benefits. Most of all, it doesn't cost us any monthly premiums (another word for money), money that could be used to help others, including ourselves. Jesus is "The Rock" and you're in "safe hands" with Him. All those insurance jingles can't compare to the praise and power of Almighty God!

When we put our trust in God, we can avoid many of the unnecessary wrecks in life.
