Las Vegas

Welcome to Las Vegas
How do I begin, to talk about Las Vegas, I had made curtain statements about this city. But, when I got here it was very hot, 98 degrees, and the person I was hoping to stay with for a week didn’t pan out as I hoped, so what’s new. I was about to skip the city completely and let someone else deal with it. After all, I was called to the poor in Mexico. In fact, I didn’t even feel spiritually prepared to do much of anything, but when I’m weak then He is strong.

I remembered something the Lord said one night, if not you, who? So I asked God what He wanted me to do. He told me to go in and see, and walk the city and go into the buildings. Okay I can do that. It was just after noon and I grab a quick bite at McDonalds, then I drove down the strip to see where I could park the van for free. I also had to deal with a hitchhiker, who was eating my food. I unknowingly picked him up at the last campground, so I set out some mice traps I bought that morning. Then took a walk, to see for myself, if everything I heard was true about Las Vegas.

I left the van parked at the self parking at the Riviera, and hit the pavement and the casinos. I had on a pair of sandals, which weren’t my best walking shoes, but then they were what Jesus wore. In one Casino and out another, I walked the lobbies and past vast isles of various kinds of slot machines, card and rulet tables where people were doing their best to win at something which rarely happens. And if they did, it never seems to be enough. I saw one elderly lady win over $1,200 at a slot machine, but she just kept on playing. They would sit there addicted to the idea that they could be “the big winner.” After all somebody has to; it might as well be them; besides they’ve put a lot of time and money into the thought.

The tourist where dressed from casual to very expensive and attractive. There where young and old, fat and skinny, singles and couples, even family with children. But children were not allowed to gamble until they were 21 years old. Yet they still saw what everyone else was doing. Most of the hotels even provide family entertainment, rides, and souvenirs for kids who would be their future victims. It was all one big trap that was camouflaged in elegance, beauty and glamour beyond their wildest dream, even the architecture of buildings, statues and fountains where beautiful. There was food, drinks and merchandise galore and a price for everyone’s pocket, yet more expensive than what you would pay elsewhere. Entertainment cames in many forms and this was one of the most deceiving.

The spirit of seduction was everywhere; it was after your body, soul and spirit, not just your money. It’s an ugly monster that’s determined to win at any cost. Everything people saw was calling them to let go of what they once valued; for just a moments pleasure. The people behind this spared no expense, because they knew in the long run, that fallen humanity were the ones who were going to pay for it all.

I was surprised to see even homeless people and panhandlers on the street corners. There were also numerous men and women who wearing tee shirts, like this in the photo, and passing out business cards that stated they could get you a woman to your room in 20 minutes along with a phone number.  Were they really willing to sell themselves, or were many forced to, in order to survive in this rat race or the hell they’re trapped in. I though of Lot's statement to the men of Sodom, “Here take my two daughters, do whatever you want to them.”
The man in green at the center is also passing out cards for women direct to your room.
How far we have fallen as a nation, and any president or political leader who thinks he or she can change it is greatly deceived too. It will take the power and the love of Almighty God and His sons and daughters.

Very few if anyone on the Vegas stripe, is really interested in seeing people happy, prosperous or set free. The only thing their interested in is bring them down to a bottomless pit with themselves, because they too have been deceived, by the Liar of lies.

As God and I walked, He gave me powerful words to say and I spoke them. We went through the buildings and down the sidewalk of Las Vegas together. But, they where not the words you would expect hear from most ministers.

In my heart I could sense the Father’s grief and sometimes weeping as we walked, often in silence and shock at what we saw. I asked Him, how do we change all this?  I asked for mercy and forgiveness not judgment. Then I prayed and declared that a hurricane of His Holy Spirit and love would sweep through this city and this state and do whatever was necessary to change the hearts and minds of the people, the businessmen, and the investors there.

Someday, this area and other casino will all have to be torn down one-way or another; it’s a blight on “America the Beautiful” and we should be ashamed. Casinos certainly will have no place in the Kingdom of God, after all "sin" is in the middle of ca-sin-os, it's name. I asked God to forgives us, forever allowing something like this to happen in our country. The church has failed and now its time for the sons and daughters of God to rise up and be the light their meant to be, and to reveal the heart of the Father.

I placed my hands on this poster of a male celebrity that stated he put the sin back in Sin City. I rebuked that, and I declared the he would have an encounter with Almighty God, and he would see if he still feels the same way about that statement. I also prayed for others and that even the anointing on my life or my money would be transferred to people so that someday in God’s timing and way they would come face to face with the Truth, and that their lives will be changed forever. I believe God will honor that prayer.

I also believe, that if there was ever a Sodom or Gomorrah in the United States today, this was it, not Hollywood and San Francisco. The sins of those two cities and even our Nation is pride, greed, lust of the eyes, and disregard for the poor. And this city of Las Vegas is just the same, but more obvious, and yet many people say, that's just the way it is. I don’t believe it has to be, if the sons of God have anything to say about it, and that is why God brought me here.

The waste of financial and human resources, in this city, is unbelievable and is only matched by the attitude and actions of most people in our government. Plus the harm that this has brought on people lives is a crime, and it is time for that to change. You can already see that some judgment has taken place by the many skeletons of unfinished high-rise building, due to the poor economy of the last four years. But there needs to be more, and so I prayed they never get completed for the intentions they were designed. I told God, this is a city that needs redemptions, and when that happens, it will no longer be remembered as “sin city.” But have a new name called, Redemption City, Arizona.

It was after eight o’clock by the time we got back to my van. My feet were sore and I was tired and hungry, but it was a very fulfilling day, even though I was physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted. But, I was glad I stopped and asked, “What can I do? My Father also told me that He was pleased with what a son can do when he goes and see for himself. A lot was accomplished that day, and it was well worth it. I thanked Him for His strength and the words we spoke. Now, I leave this city in the care of my Heavenly Father and His other sons and daughters, to put the true Light back into the city of lights.
God still blesses the unrighteous with beautiful sunset
